Profile on Anngie Jenkins

Anngie Jenkins turned her misfortune and credit challenges around to develop a stellar credit profile. Since credit is such an important part of life and essential to getting business financing now my interview with her is very timely.

Especially in these tough economic times many people's credit is suffering due to job loss or business failures. This is an informative interview to say the least.

Profile and Interview by Kamau Austin

Anngie Jenkins is one of my favorite online business people. She exemplifies strength and determination. Jenkins had real credit problems and issues but really turned them around.

The Interview

Kamau: What's the name of your company and what do you do.

Anngie: Hi Kamau! First, I must say thank you for allowing me this opportunity. The name of my company and main website is: www.IncreaseYourCreditScoresto750.com

Well, I’m a first time author of an eBook, 25 Ways to Increase Your FICO Credit Scores to 750, where I share the strategies, techniques and tips I used to rebuild my credit and increase my FICO scores following a foreclosure and bankruptcy as a result of a job layoff in 2002.

From 2004 until now, my credit scores have risen and fallen while I experimented with new strategies and techniques. As of February 2009, my credit scores are 776, 718 and 710. I share my strategies, techniques and tips with individuals who may be credit challenged and/or who’ve experienced the same.

Kamau: Can you tell us a little bit about your background, like where you grew up and went to school?

Anngie: I was raised by a strong mother who was an orphan and later she became a widow (with three babies) when I was only 3 years old. I’m a Midwest native.

I grew up in Peoria, IL; Indianapolis, IN and Milwaukee, WI. I attended elementary school in all 3 states. In 1990, I relocated to Atlanta, GA and have resided in Atlanta ever since.

Kamau: When did you decide you wanted to help people clear up their credit?

Anngie: I decided I wanted to help people clean up their credit and/or increase their FICO scores about 3 years ago. It was something I had to do because there is so much wrong and bad information out there about credit, credit repair/restoration and increasing FICO scores.

Instead of increasing their FICO scores, most people are misinformed and are making serious mistakes with their credit. Therefore, their credit stays jacked up and the FICO scores remain low and they don’t know why.

They think they are doing everything right but in all reality they’re making serious mistakes which will keep the FICO scores low. Also, more and more, people are becoming victims of scams or some other illegal activity when attempting to clean up their credit and/or increase their FICO scores.

All that illegal stuff is not necessary. I want to show people they can clear up their credit and increase their FICO scores legally. Results can be seen in as little as 60 days with the right information and taking the proper actions legally.

Kamau: I thought I read somewhere on one of your sites that "You literally went from horrible credit to having great credit! Is this true?

Anngie: Kamau, that’s true. After a foreclosure in late 2003 and a bankruptcy in early 2004, I went from having damaged credit to having excellent credit and high FICO scores on all three credit reports in just 9 months. What I did and how I did it is what I’m sharing.

Kamau: At what point in your life did you decide you wanted to become an entrepreneur?

Anngie: When I was 18 years old I caught the entrepreneurial bug. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. I didn’t know anyone who was an entrepreneur at that time.

All my friends and family worked jobs. Therefore, I didn’t have anyone to look up to or follow in their footsteps which is why I’ve become an internet infopreneur later in life.

Kamau: Who were some of your role models that influenced you to go into business?

Anngie: Wow, Kamau, I never really had a “business” role model per se who influenced me to go into business.

What really influenced me which got me inspired and motivated to go into business would be dealing with the politics and drama in Corporate America--gosh, I was so tired of that--and the lack of time freedom when working a job.

Kamau: Who are some of your favorite business people now?

Anngie: My all time favorite business person is Randy Gage. He’s a dynamic public speaker, excellent copywriter and successful internet infopreneur.

For the last 7 years I’ve been following Andrew Morrison. I really like his style.

Now more than ever and since I wrote my eBook, Andrew’s teachings are finally relative to me.

Another recent favorite is Fred Gleeck. He’s a successful internet infopreneur also. All of these men are doing what I desire to do and become in my internet information business.

Kamau: When did you decide that the Internet is a place that you wanted to do business?

Anngie: I decided I wanted to do business on the internet back in 2002 after I received my Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) certification. The internet was still in its infancy stage back then and I just knew I could build a website and be a successful internet business owner.

Now, when you talk about SEO and SEM—that’s another story! I’m learning SEO and SEM every day after having published a website and currently working on two more sites as we speak.

Kamau: Anngie that's a good strategy for people looking to master search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). For those who may not be familiar with these two terms SEO is getting rankings in the non paid listing section of the search engines.

While on the other hand SEM is the art and science of doing well with Paid listings on the search engines right Anngie? Is this a fair assessment of the definition?

Anngie: Right!

Kamau: What makes your business unique or different from your competitors?

Anngie: What makes my business unique/different from my competitors is that the information I provide is tested and proven and not theory. Also, my business is ethical and engages in legal activity.

Kamau: Was there a defining moment or turning point in your business career when you knew you were going to be successful on the Internet?

Anngie: Yes, when I sold my first eBook!

Kamau: How much of a challenge is overcoming racism do you think in becoming a successful Internet business person?

Anngie: When doing business over the internet, I don’t think overcoming racism is a big issue.

Kamau: What are your top suggestions for people looking to repair their credit as soon as possible?

Anngie: Since credit and money go hand-in-hand, one must have an income and it must be consistent income when looking to repair their credit. If unemployed or inconsistent income, work on getting some income or making it consistent first and foremost.

Secondly, in order to know where you are going, you must know where you are starting from to see any progress. So, get your 3 free credit reports from www.annualcreditreport.com and purchase your 2 FICO scores from www.myFICO.com.

Do NOT get your credit reports or FICO scores from anywhere else. The majority of consumers are misinformed when it comes to obtaining their credit report and purchasing their FICO scores. I go more in depth about this in my eBook.

Kamau: Can you tell us about the service you offer and your website's domain address?

Anngie: At present, I provide 25 ways to increase your credit scores to 750 in my eBook for sale on my website at www.IncreaseYourCreditScoresto750.com.

Currently, I’m working on two other websites; a credit repair/restoration service and a credit consulting service. I’m writing articles, producing videos and audio clips about ways to increase your FICO scores.

Also, stay tuned for an audio version of my eBook, teleconferences and webinars.
